Yes, an administrative delegation is necessary to manage your tenant daily. We use the Microsoft delegation model (GDAP — Granular Delegated Admin Privileges) which limits our access strictly to what is needed, is auditable at any time, and can be revoked immediately upon your request.
Do you work with hybrid environments (on-premise + cloud)?
